Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square
Famous for its New Year's Eve celebrations, Trafalgar Square is well worth a visit. The 165ft-tall Nelson's Column in the middle of the square commemorates Napoleon's defeat at sea in 1805. The four bronze lions standing around it attract hundreds of pigeons, who like to be fed by visitors! Make sure to take a good look around the square-you will find it is surrounded by stunning buildings. To the north, stands the National Gallery, and the church of St Martin's-in-the-Fields. To the East you'll find South Africa House. To the West stands Canada House and to the South you'll find the Admiralty Arch, with the Mall leading to Buckingham Palace.
