The Royal Naval College
The Royal Naval College is beautifully situated on the Thames riverbank.
It is raised on the site of the Palace of Placentia where Henry VIII once
lived. Charles II then demolished the old Tudor residence and replaced it
with a palace, which was later developed into a naval hospital. Today it
is housing the University of Greenwich. Only the impressive Painted Hall
and RNC Chapel and the Crown Jewels of the Millennium Exhibition are open
to visitors, but they make a visit well worth it. In the Chapel, a service
of worship is held every Sunday at 11am, to which all are welcome.
